After a solid month of planning, stressing (mainly on my part), and getting everything together, we finally hosted an Oscar Party in our apartment last Sunday, and I could not have been happier with the result! The Oscars have been one of my favorite things since I was a little girl, and it was wonderful to watch the ceremony, eat some good food, play trivia, and compete for a grand Oscar Party prize with our nearest and dearest friends.
Because I was too busy running around cooking or making sure everyone was happy while the show was going on, I was only able to take a couple pictures of the party spread (I’m still a little sad about that!) on my phone. For the party we served champagne jello shots (which were incredibly delicious), chocolate cupcake cones, bruschetta, a cheese plate, my mom’s really awesome meatball recipe, and more. It made me so happy to see all of my friends huddled around our tiny kitchen, eating the food that came out perfectly. It really could not have been a better night!
And to top the evening off, while the ceremony was going on all of our guests filled out a ballot and guessed who they thought would win that category. The guest with the most correct guesses would leave with the grand prize – a bottle of wine from the Alamo Drafthouse’s Princess Bride event! It ended up going to our friend movie aficionado friend Frank (as we expected) and I definitely think I’m going to have to pick up another one of these bottles for us next time I head down to Austin.
All in all, it was a great night and I really could not have asked for a more perfect evening with our closest friends. Thank you to everyone who came, I’m looking forward to next year’s party already!
