a few of my favorite things

Happy Friday, everyone! So you may have noticed things look a bit…different here on Sea & Skylark. After an evening of frustration spent over WordPress.com’s Twenty Ten theme, I finally decided to make the switch over to the Triton Lite theme. One of the things I enjoy so much about my tumblr theme is that it allows a more modern and flexible showcase of the things I find interesting by putting all them into a grid like format, instead of the standard post-by-post blog format; which is something I was always hoping to have at Sea & Skylark at some point. By switching over the Triton theme, I feel like more of my posts have the opportunity to be seen, and people aren’t forced to scroll through pictures that may not interest them as much as it does me. This way, people go through more of my content at once (I have found so many forgotten about posts with this new theme!) and view something that speaks to their interests, while also getting a better grasp of the theme I’m trying to accumulate for this blog. There are still a few kinks that need to be worked out, but for the most part, I am very happy with this new theme, and I hope you like it as well!

Moving on from this technical talk though, I hope you have a great weekend! I personally don’t have any major plans this weekend (wah wah). Tonight I’m going to make myself a vegetarian pasta dish, have some wine, relax, and work on my Netflix queue. I need to take it easy before our big anniversary trip next weekend. What about you?

Things I loved this week:

1. iPhonography: Amazing pictures taken all on the iphone (!) by photographer Kevin Russ.

2. Watertower: A gorgeous stained glass water tower sculpture created by artist Tom Fruin. I would love to see it in person! (Someone let me come visit them in Brooklyn ;) )

3. Stately Sandwiches: Design student Kelly Pratt is on a mission to make famous sandwiches from each state, and I love it! Each sandwich looks so amazing, but the Texas sandwich is pretty spot on.

4. Roots: And finally, really incredible nurture studies conducted by Diana Scherer. I can’t believe the roots of each plant stayed in the vase formation!

Have a great weekend!

xoxo Lauren
